Toodyay: Meaning – Place of Plenty
Toodyay Christmas Trees is based at our stunning property, The Quarters at Toodyay.
The Quarters was originally part of one of Western Australia’s early pastoral properties. It has now become a rural icon, familiar to travellers as they enter the West Australian Wheatbelt.
In late 2016 the Bicknell family purchased The Quarters, comprising the original shearers’ quarters, the stables, shearing shed and the beautiful Boyagerring Brook. This property, including our Christmas tree plot, is set on 43 acres (17 hectares). Inspired by the work of Tony Coote (Mulloon Institute) and Charles Massy (Call of The Reed Warbler), we are committed to regenerating the soil, water, flora and enticing the native wildlife back to the area.
In 2017, the Bicknell family then planted the first crop of Toodyay Christmas Trees’ real, live Christmas trees. After several years of nurturing them and watching them grow, they are now ready for their new homes.
The purchase of your very own, real live Christmas tree, will help fund the improvements and restoration of this historic and iconic property.
